“Italian Manager Ranieri Retires After 37-Year Career”, Former Leicester City manager Claudio
Ranieri, celebrated for leading the team to an unexpected Premier League title in 2016, has declared
his retirement from football at the age of 72.

Ranieri concluded his managerial career with Cagliari’s 3-2 home loss to Fiorentina on Thursday. Fans at the Sardegna Arena gave him a heartfelt ovation, and his players paid tribute with a guard of honor.

“Italian Manager Ranieri Retires After 37-Year Career”,Ranieri expressed his sentiments, stating, “There
is a beginning and an end to everything. It is only fair: to close the circle in this way, where I had
started, is something I dreamed of and the dream was wonderful.” He shared this with reporters
on Thursday, reminiscing about his previous stint managing Cagliari in 1988.

Ranieri, renowned for his management of numerous Serie A clubs including Juventus, AS Roma, and
Inter Milan, achieved legendary status for leading Leicester to an extraordinary Premier League title.

In addition to his successful tenure at Leicester, Ranieri also managed several Premier League clubs including Chelsea, Fulham, and Watford. His managerial career extended to Spain’s LaLiga, where he led Valencia and Atletico Madrid.

“Luck does not fall on you, it has to be sought. I was a lucky man: I wanted to be a footballer, I managed to do it. Ranieri reflected on his journey.

“As a soccer player, I was not a great champion, but as a coach, I had a lot of fun. For me, it was an honor to be in the world of soccer,” Ranieri expressed, reflecting on his career.
