In a separate development, Josep Borrell, the European Union’s chief diplomat, has accused Israel of persistently obstructing attempts to provide aid to Gaza. He asserts that the territory is experiencing a famine completely caused by human actions, emphasizing that starvation is being employed as a weapon of war.

In November, the army conducted a raid on Shifa Hospital, alleging that Hamas operated a sophisticated command center within and beneath the facility. The military unveiled a tunnel leading to a bunker and displayed weapons purportedly discovered inside the hospital. However, critics contended that the evidence presented did not substantiate the initial claims, accusing the army of endangering civilian lives recklessly.

People taking refuge in the hospital reported that Israeli forces, supported by tanks and artillery, encircled the medical complex early Monday. They claimed that snipers targeted individuals inside the hospital. Witnesses stated that the army conducted raids on several buildings within the complex and detained numerous individuals.
